A true action of responsibility happened!

It is now official. The huge, a bit crazy, almost utopic idea is now true. An enormous action of responsibility happened when Nokian Neulomo Oy bought the Nokia factory business from Nanso Group. The cornerstones of the business are not only being ethical and ecological, but also domestic and transparent production.

Last week Nokian Neulomo probably surprised us all by buying the factory business from Nanso. The dream became a true story. Hence, the long, vivid story of textile industry in Finland continues! But what for this all happened?

Firstly, the company wants to create a new kind of textile industry to Finland. That kind of textile and garment industry, which is build on transparent production and promotes responsible business.

Nokian Neulomo answers to the demand of those consumers who are looking for ecological and ethical options and domestic, quality products. In addition, it answers to the demand of those companies who value local production, product safety and a transparent supply chain!

Secondly, this has a significant impact on employment. Not only the former jobs are maintained in the factory, but also new people will be hired. The solid know-how, built decades ago, stays. The company is continuously looking for new partners as well.

Thirdly, Nokian Neulomo is going to launch a brand of its own, which is called Neulomo. The Neulomo-trademark is aimed at women of all ages and all sizes, and actually the products are also designed with them!

In fact, the first pre-sale, held on Monday, was a huge success since the Neulomo products available were sold in 12 hours.

The products of Neulomo are sold now in Weecos and starting from October, in the biggest hypermarket-chain of Finland, Prisma. It goes without saying, that this co-operation is a huge thing and it just strengthens the fact that consumers appreciate domestic products and want to support the domestic industry.

Last but not least, Nokian Neulomo produces jersey and clothes for others too. All the Made in Nokia -products have been sold out in a very short time and subcontract manufacturing is one of the important elements of Nokian Neulomo in the future too. When ordering from Neulomo, you can be sure that quality, ecological and ethical viewpoints are taken into consideration.

During this year companies such as Papu Design, Varusteleka, Uhana Design and TAUKO design are producing clothes at Neulomo.

Pretty amazing right? There can already be seen a huge interest towards Nokian Neulomo from both consumers and other companies. What’s up next? Stay tuned!
